Embarking Once Again

Since most of us are off on 'vacation' and haven't started school again yet, i thought i'd restate some chizuk.

We live in a world filled to the brim with goyim. To our dismay their morals are in the negative and barely exist for a growing number of them. With in this society we dwell, trying vigurously to stick to our roots and grow from there. This struggle will occur and continue as we advance in age and life experience.

Though we're at constant war to stand out ground and stay strait in our avodat HaShem, we sometimes forget that we even are at war. The motions may be robotic and instinctive by now. It may have been a while since we reassesed our personal situation and postion in this war.

Over the last few weeks i have had the ablity to sit back and envelope myself, once again, in the Jewish goals and prospective. Realigning myself, i hope, with my mission and goal, hopefully in site by now. During this period i was shocked to find that i had let my guard done slightly. I had asumed that i was 'used' to this atmosphere and no longer had to be on alert. I was wrong.

I feel compelled to remind my friends that it is nessecary that we reexamine our situation and strategies of battle. It could be that we have 'evolved' too much and let done our guard slightly.

I was reminded by Rabbi Twersky ( i know i'm spelling his name wrong) that the yetzer hara is ALWAYS attacking and on battle for internally and externally.

I give you chizuk and support to continue and work and win your battles so that you may, one day, win the war. May HaShem give each of us the strength we need to overcome our battles and realize that they are battles.

This Chanuka we get two shabbat chanuka's. I thought that it was an interesting point, as well as a nice thing to realize and appreciate.

So it's the week before chanukah... hence i'm randomness as i try to think of an inspirtational thought, just for you Lea! umm.......
So we're supposed to be 'or la'goyim' eh! We'll then why are we lighting our menorah's privately by our house. (I know that they used to light them together in the town square, publicly, but let's forget that for now k ?)
I think that the reason H'Shem has put us in the situation where we're lighting INSIDE our houses, in chutz la'artez, it to teach us a speacial message and remind us of something more nesseccary here then in eretz yisroel.
In cutz la'aretz we are challenged by the large poplulation of goyim and their media freely publisizes their 'ideals' and 'morals.' One may be confused and think that they're supposed to reflec and mirror this behaviour. I feel that we are getting a message not to think or do this! We are SUPPOSED to DRESS and THINK differently. We live by different morals and have a different center. This is strangthened by the fact that we bring the menora INSIDE our houses. Only through strengthening our home and selves frist can we shine forth into the world and be or la'goyim and the rest of klal yisroel

I was gonna send you guys a satilite pic of my house but it's taking longer to find then i thought.

I want to mention that my teacher, Rabbi Leff from cincinnati, said that HaShem sends up snow during the winter becuase it's a time when things are cold, people might feel depressed, and our only holiday ( comemoration) is chanuka ( not to put down chanukah.) So we get snow, usually, as a reminder that Hashem is there and wants us to be happy and hopeful. You can expound on that if you want. all the same, be well!
